Yoga for Pregnancy
with Ayeisha
@ayeishayoga
This course is for pregnant individuals in their second and third trimesters who want to keep moving, stay grounded, and grow with their bodies during pregnancy. We’ll move gently and with intention, following our bodies’ (and our babies’!) cues, with a particular focus on using the breath as an anchor. The course will consist of people at different stages of their pregnancy and will offer lots of options to rediscover your changing body as your baby grows. Whether you’re completely new to yoga or a dedicated yogi, this course will help you stay grounded and connected to your body throughout your pregnancy. It is beginner-friendly and suitable for all levels.
COURSE OUTCOMES
To build and maintain strength and mobility throughout all stages of pregnancy, increasing awareness of how best to navigate changes in our weight, body, and centre of gravity.
To discover the power of breath and explore how we might use breath and movement to encourage the baby into the optimal position for labour and birth.
To reduce stress and cultivate an environment of nurturing, respect, and connection as a secure foundation for parenting.
Week 1
Grounding. Landing in our changing bodies, and exploring how to work with and support our growing babies from a musculoskeletal perspective
Week 2
Flowing. Focusing on the breath-body connection, moving through a mindful flow to encourage good blood circulation, and feeling how our bodies and babies respond
Week 3
Connection. Continuing to work with mindful breath to deeply connect with our babies. We'll also delve into adapting our yoga practice and day-to-day movements to accommodate a growing bump
Week 4
Strengthening. Focusing on building strength in areas of the body challenged during pregnancy and labor, particularly the pelvic floor and hips
Week 5
Releasing Identifying areas of tension in the body, especially around the ribcage and shoulders as our bodies grow. We will explore techniques to create freedom of movement both leading up to and following childbirth
Week 6
Arrival. In our final week, we'll explore methods to work with our bodies to assist our babies in moving into the optimal position for labour

Dedicated yoga practitioner and teacher with a passion for building community, peace and power through the practice. Whether teaching a dynamic vinyasa or gentle pregnancy flows, my classes are inclusive yet challenging - meeting students where they’re at while encouraging them to go further. My standard yoga practice is informed by ashtanga and rocket based sequences, while my pre and postnatal classes blend breathwork with moving meditation. My students can benefit from hands-on assists and step-by-step progression support, including inversions and hand balancing.

We have a strict latecomers policy. Latecomers will not be admitted any later than 5 minutes after the commencement of the session. Past this point, it will be disruptive for you to enter the room, and since you will not have warmed up properly, heading into class this late may also be damaging for your body. We recommend you arrive 5-10 minutes early so the class and your day can run on time.

Cancellations within 72 hours of the course starting will not be refunded.
Cancellations outside of 72 hours of the course start will be refunded upon request, otherwise, the passes can be transferred to another course (or a later cohort of the cancelled course).
There is no refund offered for missed sessions within the course.
If we are required to cancel a class due to teacher illness, we will offer a make-up session the week following the last session of the course.
The teacher may choose to cancel a course if a low number of people sign up. Please book in as early as you can to stop this from happening! Your pass will automatically be returned to your Mindbody account in this incidence. You can request a refund if you want one, otherwise, the passes can be transferred to another course (or a later cohort of the cancelled course).
